The RULES

THE RULES OF THE DICK-ATHLON 2009

  • All participants must pay £10 entrance fee. This contribution will be put toward an engraved trophy for the winner, a second place tankard and a wooden spoon for the loser.
  • There will be ten events spread over ten months. The first event will be held in February and the last event will be held in November. If for any circumstance an event is cancelled or postponed it will be rearranged at a later date.
  • THE LIGHTFOOT CLAUSE

Each dick-athlete will have seven days to respond to the e-mail and text which will be sent out each month attempting to ascertain availability for an event. If a dick-athlete does not respond in this time they will be deemed as not attending and the event will be booked. If a dick-athlete does not attend the event because they did not respond in the seven day time period they will receive 0 points and will not be allowed to attend the event.

  • Each player has a joker. The joker entitles the player double points at one event. The joker must be played before the event begins. The joker can only be played in one chosen event by the competitor.
  • Points will be scored as follows.

1st        10 points.
2nd        9   points
3rd           8   points
4th           7   points
5th        6   points
6th        5   points
7th        4   points
8th        3   points
9th        2   points
10th      1   point

  • If a dick-athlete confirms their availability for an event but does not turn up this will result in 4 points deducted from their score. The four points will be deducted whatever the dick-athletes reason(s) for not been able to attend may be.

The ‘Dick-athlon Suit’ will be worn by the loser of each event. The loser must wear The ‘Dick-athlon Suit’ for an amount of time following an event that the fellow dick-athletes deem appropriate. ‘The Dick-athlon Suit’ must also be worn by the overall Dick-athlon loser on the presentation evening.

  • If a competitor drops out, their £10 is non-refundable. If a suitable candidate is chosen to replace any player that has withdrawn they will receive any points that the withdrawn player has gained.
  •  THE AFSAR CLAUSE

If a dick-athlete misses two events they will be disqualified from the competition and not allowed to re-enter until the following year,

  • If there is a tie break on the leaderboard after the last event the dick-athlete who has won the most events will take precedence over the other. If there is still a tie following this it will come down to whichever dick-athlete has had the better placings over the season.
  • THE DUCKWORTH CLAUSE

Each Dick-athlete shall at least attempt to wear formal attire to the presentation event at the end of the Dick-athlon season. Failure to do so will result in the offending Dick-athlete buying all other dick-athletes a pint following the presentation.
